For over two years, Grand Shrimp has been successfully growing premium head-on tail-on Whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), also known as Pacific white shrimp, from a PL stage to a full-grown (approx. 25-30 gram / 15-18 shrimp/lb) stage in a 100% self-contained shrimp aquaculture system through a proprietary, patent-pending design that supports high-density production of live shrimp. This production system is superior to current shrimp farming practices in every aspect.
The system features a first-of-its kind recirculating water filtration system, highly compact layout, high quality feed that doesn’t depend on unsustainable sources, and avoids the negative impacts associated with traditional ocean-farming or trawling fishing practices. Unique to most aquaculture production systems, the operations of Grand Shrimp’s system is highly automated with significantly less operational staffing requirements. This automation system allows for offsite remote monitoring and operations by providing alarm notifications and access to key operational data.
The system design features a highly compact and modular layout for scalable production at desirable output levels that can be placed anywhere in the world with the potential to eliminate environmentally unsound shrimp import and export practices while producing a far-superior product quality and safety. The shrimp produced in the Grand Shrimp production system has been rated as USDA Grade A quality by Certified Laboratories (FDA Reg. #2419699) with analysis indicating higher protein and fat content than average Whiteleg shrimp.
